Diverticular disease
High-fiber prudent pattern; the old nut, seed, and popcorn restriction is not supported.

Eat more: other vegetables, leafy greens, fruit, whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds. A high-fiber, prudent pattern of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans is associated with lower diverticulitis risk (AGA).
Limit: red meat, added sugar, ultraprocessed food. Lower red meat and sweets, which track with higher risk.
Nuts, corn, popcorn, and small seeds such as strawberries and blueberries do not need to be avoided. That old restriction is not supported. A fiber supplement does not replace a high-quality diet.
